Hello all,

I recently retubed my 94 Twin Amp (manufacture date KK (November, 2000)) and decided to start pulling tubes to determine what everything does.

After pulling tubes and squinting at the schematic this is what I've determined. Just wanted some feedback/confirmation from any other owners out there.

Layout:

V6.......V5........V4.......V3.......V2.......V1.....

12AX7 12AT7 12AT7 12AX7 12AX7 12AX7

V7.......V8.......V9....V10..V11..V12..

12AX7 12AT7 5881 5881 5881 5881

What happens with each tube pulled:

V1: Speakers hiss (they're on), but no output on any channel.

V2: No output on Vintage Drive Channel.

V3: No output on Channel 2.

V4: No output on Channel 1, No FX loop.

--->Vintage Drive Channel & Channel 2 work BUT volume is MUCH quieter.

V5: No reverb.

V6: Loud hum from amp but speakers are not on.

V7: Loud hum from amp but speakers are not on.

V8: Loud hum from amp but speakers are not on.

With these results and after looking at the schematics I've made the following assumptions:

V1: 1st gain stage for all channels.

V2: 2nd gain stage for the Vintage Drive Channel.

V3: 2nd gain stage for Channel 2.

V4: 2nd gain stage for Channel 1; 3rd gain stage for Vintage Drive Channel & Channel 2; effects loop return amplifier.

V5: Reverb Driver.

V6: Reverb Return Amplifier.

V7: Preamp Out/Power Amp In (from the schematic).

V8: Phase Inverter.

Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
