The Vintage 30 at 60 watts is a good choice. Good all around rock icon. You might want to look at a Weber. Here's a link.....Hope this helps. PS. Replace the speaker with one of the same impedance..... 8) Mike http://www.tedweber.com/

I have a Texas Red edition with the matching Red cabinet. The amp has the vitage 30 and the sound is alot warmer and bluesier!

Thanks for the reply.

I Should have said , I play country , Blues , Rock and roll type music, the Vintage 30 still do the job for that, i did look at the Webber Speakers, there abit more then the Celestion, so wanted to get advice and see if the Celestion would do the job.

The VIntage 30 was our choice for putting into external cabs to use with the hotrod amps.

Other choices people seem to like might be Eminence Cannabis Rex (clean and mellow) or Swamp Thang heavy on the bottom end.

Some eminence sound clips for a few of their speakers to be found here

Celestion sound clips can be found here

I've got a V30 in my HRDx. It smooths out the midrange, and softens the tubby low end. A big improvement, it even makes the Drive and More Drive channels more usable.

The Jensen P12N and the Celestion G12-P sound pretty sweet.

I played some of the custom HRDLX's a while back which had these speakers in them off the shelf and I may have even played one with a Vintage 30 but I cannot remeber.

Get your hands a an Emerald Green, Wine Red or a Tweed HR DLX cause they are the exact amp only with a different speaker, one of some sounded freeeeeeeeeekin' awesome but I cannot remember which one. All of the speakers are far better than the stock Fender speaker. Good Luck!

+1 on the Celestion Vintage 30s, I have one stock in a emerald green HDR, but I use them in most of my amps and have for years. I had a HDR with a Jensen which I thought sounded to brittle for distortion channels on a HDR.

I have a '93 concert 60w 1-12 combo, and after installing a vintage 30, the amp is louder, fuller on the clean channel, and a huge improvement on the two drive channels, which I didn't like before. Great speaker for 100 bucks.....barryg
