I have been very happy with my Super Champ XD, I have recently noticed a couple of changes and wonder if I should take it back to the shop.
In my selection switch I have noticed a huge difference in sound level whenever I go to the 4th setting, it really drops to almost nothing until I raise the volume level back up to 10.
My other problem is that I noticed this weekend that I was getting some static when I increased my volume level to a 5 or 6 and my gain above 5 on several positions, kind of like the speaker wanted to breakup a little, no problem with tone at all.
The amp is great otherwise, the variety of sounds and the fact my Takamine Acoustic-Electric sounds perfect on the acoustic setting makes this the most versatile that I ever owned and excellent for practice at home.

I just got this amp a couple of months ago, and so far, I'm really liking it. It's an excellent practice amp with some really nice sounds. Haven't had a chance to really crank it up yet, though.
I was wondering though, how does it stack up as a gigging amp?

Bat,
It definetely holds its own! It will crank! I have used it in a small club(250-300) and it was nice and loud. I also was in the studio this past weekend and well...the engineer told me to crank it and get some nice breakup...he very nicely asked me to turn it back down :P so I think that it should be good depending on what you are trying to do.

I wonder if the volume is suppose to be that low on those 4-6 settings?

Can't help you on the static, but here's a post on the volume.

suthrnslew,
Thanks man for that link, that saves me a lot of trouble of taking the amp back over an hour away to the shop. I can live with making adjustments in volume and gain because the amp does sound good.
