hey

I have the Fender Deville HR 4X10. I use a Boss EQ for a little lead boost in the Effects Loops, some people say its a bad thing and can cause trouble with the amp down the road...:?:

Any ideas or suggestions??
Cheers
Mike

It won't cause trouble with the amp. It just won't sound as good as it could. The loop should be used for time based and modulation effects like echo, reverb, chorus. flanging etc. Distortion, wah. boost, fuzz etc should go into the guitar input. It's your amp and your tone. You want the boost to hot the front end of the amp for maximum control and tone.

If it's the Boss GE7 it should work in the guitar input of the amp unless you're plugging it in backwards or somethings wrong with the unit. Your guitar goes into the input of the GE7 and the output of the GE7 goes to the amp.

I'm not being a wise guy, just trying to help. :D

Nope. ive read that the HRD have a separte pre-amps but the eq pedal only works in the loop. Other pedals like my delay sounds completely different in the guitar chain compared to the effects loop.

Try contacting Boss. That's weird. Your DeVille is pretty much the same as the HRDlx with 20 more watts.
