This is a very popular amp so be aware if you are waiting for an in store lower price there may not be any available. The most I've ever seen as a discount is 20 percent but due to the popularity of this model it may not be discounted that much. If you want one and can get a discount now, I would go for it. I may be biased however as I own one of these and love it.

Hello majjackdog, you got a good price! I bought mine at the beginning of Oct. at my local music store. They wanted $299 but I talked them down to $289 'cause I bought a Gretsch Pro-Jet also. It's a "kick-ass" little amp and I Love it! Regards, G.G.

Um.......................What kind of "deal" are you waiting for?

$150.00?.................. ain't gonna happen.

It's a $300 amp. Waiting to save $10 just seems counterproductive, when you coulda been playing and having fun in the interim. What do you spend to see a movie? Cancel the weekend, and get something you'll have for the rest of your life.

I was at GC today and saw they dropped the price to $270. Thats $40 less than I bought it for 9 monthes ago. I wouldn't wait too long, I don't think it will get much cheaper than that. Its a great bargin for such an awesome amp.

It's a great amp and that is the best deal that I have seen on this amp. I paid $300 for mine.

Out here in california I have seen them for as low as 249.99. All up to you. If you can wait, then why not. You might get lucky and the price might drop even more, or maybe not. Do you fell lucky? Well, do you?

I should've posted this sooner... just saw the thread. Last weekend, Sam Ash online had a $50 off any purchase over $200 plus the Fender 10% off, plus free shipping... that put the SCXD at $224.95 delivered... I did notice they were on backorder by Saturday when I checked... darn...

The best discount I have ever seen has been 20% at G.C., and I would have thought black friday would be the day for that. The only way I have seen to get a better discount is to check and see if your employer participates in a national discount program that enables employees to make purchases from retailers at a substantial price reduction. Alot of companies participate in this, but alot of times employees are not aware of it until they check into it. From what I've seen those discounts run from 5% - 25%.

Fender's pricing in the last year or so has been volatile to say the least. Price hikes tend to come in January.

I just rec'd the "big holiday gift guide" catalog from Musician's Friend. Their price for the SCXD is now $398.99 -- just a 5% discount off of the $419.99 MSRP!!! The December 2009 catalog and the website still have it for $299.99 with the same MSRP. Yikes!!!

The less loved, but equally fun VCXD is still just $199.99.
