Sorry, I thought you were the OP.He had a HRDlx. I still wouldn't suggest pulling one speaker. You'll change the load the output tranny is looking for. I also doubt it will help the tube rattle. The HRD amps in general are notorious for developing tube rattle at some point. Sometimes swapping the power tubes with each other may help but not usually. If you gig, you should carry a spare set of tubes with you.

mine is not even a week old, and now on the 10th fret of the d string it makes like a vibrating sound when its on 2+ volume when I hit the string, like a long lasting vibrating sound, looked at the preamp tubes and the 2 close together have a foam support on them, but the other one has no FOAM SUPPORT, if I put one on this will it fix the problem ?. because its only that note that makes it happen, which is odd, anyway U think the support will help

Fwiw, I just bought a new HRD III and sure enough, when I cranked it up a bit I could hear the dreaded tube rattle on low frequency notes. I researched the issue online, checked my tube seating, talked to Fender support, etc., and was contemplating sending the amp back. Then I discovered a cure --

I moved the amp away from the wall about a foot and voila, no tube rattle.

I may still order some tube damper rings though.
