Hey,
I bought a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe about a month ago, and I have been having some problems with it. When I play a D, Eflat, or E on the 12th Fret or on the 7th-9th Fret of the G string I can hear a buzzing noise in the back of the amp, like something is loose and vibrating. When I play the note and put my finger on the left power amp/tube to stop the vibration, the ringing/buzzing stops. Do I just need to have the tubes replaced? Any imput would be great, and if you have any questions just ask. Thanks.

Make sure the tubes are pushed in all the way, but it sounds like you might have a microphonic tube. Also make sure the hotrod has the foam cushion around the tubes.Believe it or not Fender uses this to keep the tubes from rattling.I had this problem with my blues deluxe when I first bought it and I pulled the foam down a little farther and it took care of the problem.

There is foam around the pre amp but not the power tubes, and what is a microphonic tube?

It is a tube that has started to fail and act like a mic :/

Do the pencil eraser test (lightly tap each tube with a pencil eraser end) you will get a lot of unexpected sounds from a tube that has gone microphonic.

It's tube rattle. Tubes can rattle for years and not fail. It does not mean the tube is going bad. Tube dampers might help.

I had to use tube dampers in my HRDlx. That amp is a torture chamber for power tubes. Tube rattle is real common problem in combo amps. Microphonic tubes and tube rattle are two completely different things.

Microphonic tubes will make a ringing or feedback type noise with nothing plugged into the amp. Rattle can be triggered at certain frequencies but needs a signal to get the rattle going.

The dampers I used were from Herbie's Audio. They were kind of expensive, I'd just use the high temp "O" ring type. It may stop the rattle for you without replacing the tubes or it may not.

Go here https://ssl.eurotubes.com/euro-i.htm?page=faq#12.

If you go to #9 it will explain it all.

On another note, be gentle when removing the tubes in the HRDlx. The sockets are soldered to the board and are fragile. You can fracture the solder joints pretty easily and cause a whole new set of reliability problems. That was one of the many reasons I sold my HRDlx.

Oh, if it's a new amp, the tubes may still be under warranty.

I've been having a similar problem with my HRD. I have the tweed version, had it for about 5-6 months. Just recently I started to hear a sound that sounded like a tiny tambourine or a sound like something was loose (Only on a G chord) . I pushed all the tubes in (with a cloth) and the sound went away. But it seems to come back every now and then. I just ordered a new set of tubes (matching) and I will try to lower the foam on the tubes, but haven't played yet. I wanted the tubes to cool down before I lowered the foam. Hope this fixes the problem.

This is common with any combo amp. The tubes are in the blast area of the speakers. A good set of tube retainers would help as Supro has already told you.

It's probably the large power tubes rattling.
I'd try tube dampers.

Thanks to 63supro, I took his advice and went to the ebay site and bought a combo pack of the tube dampeners.

Let me tell you, these things work! It was a pre amp tube that was rattling and I slide just one of the dampeners on it. The rattle is gone. I can again turn the master volume up past 4 and not hear that slight buzz or rattle.

Even though I went out and bought an additional set of tubes, now they are back ups.

Thank you 63supro!

I found out a possible solution for this..

Can it be the preamp tube stabilizer????

I just send an email to fender and they said they are sending me a replacement..

It makes sense to me that this has broken and needs to be replace...

another possible solution that i figured is that i might be disconecting the upper speaker...

I have a gig comming and don t have time to go to a tech...

so i might be disconecting the upper speaker...

anyway in the gig the mic goes con the lower one...

Upper speaker? The HRDlx only has one speaker. if you're amp has two speakers and you disconnect one, you'll change the impedance. That could be a potential problem. Be sure you're not running it without a speaker connected.
