I have been looking at a smallish club amp.Presently I have been using my blues jr at smaller venues and my 59 bassman at bigger ones.I have been looking at a Egnater rebel 20 and drri for quite some time.Couldnt really commit to either.Only real drawback of the egnater was no reverb.Today I saw Guitar Center had Fender amps and guitars at 10-15 percent off.I checked and they had the DRRI for 15 off.The guy said he would give it to me for 840.I went for it.Took it home and started breaking in my speaker right away.I cant tell you how awesome the tone is on that thing .My plan was to retire the blues jr, but I think I am gonna sell off the blues deluxe instead.I might use the blues jr for practices and I think having the DRRI makes the blues deluxe as the odd man out.Its heavier , fragile and i can probably get more for the blues deluxe that the blues jr.Having a 59 bassman kinda covers the 40-45 watt territory anyway.

Congrats! Great amp - between your other two amps, sounds like you've got your bases covered!

At some point if you're looking to optimize your tone, I'd suggest:

Philips JAN 12AX7WA for V2 - big difference over the stock preamp tube

Mazda NOS 6V6 - subtle but worth it.

I have used kcanostubes.com with excellent results. Mike K. is the man for tubes.

Thanks for the info.I am a big fan of Jan Phillips.I have JP wgbs in my bassman.I can see why the DRRI is so popular. Some great tones for sure.Easy to dial in the amps sweet spot.

just a little update.I got home and was searching the web and I found a website that had the amp on sale for 899 plus their 10 percent discount from Fender.I called Guitar Center and they wouldnt match it because "technically" i paid 841 for the amp(it was 894 with tax). I explained to them that the price was with 15 percent off because of Fender rebates. They said it didnt matter because technically the price was cheaper. I did some thinking and remembered they have a 30 day return policy.I called Musicians Friend and they gave me a price of 809 dollars total because there is free shipping and no tax.So "technically" I saved 84 real dollars. As soon as my amp comes in I will return the amp to Guitar center .Plus Musicians Friend has a 18 months same as cash financing right now.I am still gonna sell my Blues Deluxe, but now I have a little more time.

Sorry for your trouble, but thats just funny, being that MC and GC are the same company...
Congrats on the Amp, I hope to have one of those someday.

Thanks, I have been sitting on the fence with either that and the egnater 20.Both great amps.At the price I paid,i went with the drri. The reverb is to die for as is the tone.I guess I am a Fender guy at heart and not much of a knob turner. If I would have gotten the egnater I wouldnt have used it to its potential , so on to the drri.Dont regret my choice.

"The reverb is to die for as is the tone.I guess I am a Fender guy at heart and not much of a knob turner."

I couldn't agree more. I bought a DRRI a while back after returning a Blues Deluxe (I owned it for 2 days - the reverb and tone were no match for the DRRI, let alone the ease of use with the DRRI, which is very plug-and-play).

I also bought a tweed Blues Junior, and between the two, my tonal needs are covered. I actually probably play the BJ a little bit more because it's easier to move around the house and take with me to mini jams with other guitarists.

The only downside to owning Fender amps is that my poor Taylor acoustic gets no love -- it's so hard to put down a strat when it's combined with a Fender amp!

Congrats on the new amp! You're going to love the DRRI. They just sing when you crank them.

GC sucks with their "sales". I bought the Egnater as a half stack on the last trade in trade up sale a few months ago and they would only discount the head even though they list it as a half stack. But, I got another 1x12 cab for the Egnater 20 for 15% off on the Black Friday sale, so it covered the tax plus 9% in real dollars. I usually won't deal with GC but I don't like going mail order on amps or guitars.

The Rebel really opens up with two twelves. Now it has even more apparent headroom, volume and bottom end. Sounds killer. :D

I have never had good luck dealing with GC either Supro.Their whole "price matching" is nothing but smoke and mirrors , thats why I decided on Musicians Friend.I have actually had good luck with MF .I bought an amp from them and it was fine.Does kind of make me nervous though. It isnt gonna make me feel bad at all returning the amp and I will tell them exactly why.It really amounts to a difference of less than 40 bucks, but its gonna save me 85 because there is free shipping and no tax.Take care.BTW, the DRRI sounds unbelievable.

I think they are owned by the same company, not really the same company. That's why you see different pricing sometimes. Still the same pocket though.

Stuff will be blowing out at the end of the year too because you have to pay tax on inventory you don't sell.

I still like MF better than GC. I did have a great experience with Sweetwater. I just don't do big stuff like guitars and amps by mail order.
I still try to go with the smaller guys in my area and around Phila, Pa.
I have a Sam Ash and a MF a couple of miles from my home. But Cintioli's and Georges Music are my favorites. Anyone in the Philadelphia area should check out Bennie Cintioli off Oxford Ave.

Dang Supro , I am jealous .Here in the Akron /Cleveland are there arent any nice guitar shops left. The big ones unfortunately are GC and Sam Ash.There was a few bigger ones around, but they closed down a few years back. There are some mom and pop places left, but they rarely have much. There is a small shop in downtown Cleveland, but they specialise in vintage stuff.Thats where I usually take my guitars and amps to for work.
