Very well put C.C. I think we should all leave Johnny to stew in his own little, sterile, digital world as this thread is becoming an unending circle going nowhere.Johnny has himself convinced that his way and opinion is the only one that holds any creedence and won't be changed so to continue we are just flogging a dead horse. If the ears and years of lifelong musicians can't reason with him nothing outside of a double-blind scientific experiment will satisfy him-even then if the findings didn't go his way he'd likely dismiss them as he has all other logic.

I'll be upgrading to the Line6 POD Farm 2.0.

Also buying the one model pack I don't yet own.

Then I will truly be happy.

well, no surprise, the tubies are expressing themselves in their usual Ayatollah fashion: death to the infidel. again, no intelligent arguements, just the usual and annoying blather, no attempt to deal with "the question" or heavens forbid, the new fender website. look on the bright side, at least they haven't ask us to wear burkas and chant bullah-bullah whilst bowing to the tube. whadda a bunch of anodes.

ciao,
johnny.

You are the one who has consistently displayed a lack of intelligent argument throughout this thread and that's by immaturely insulting people rather than discussing.

Like I said, I REFUSE to play on stage through a solid state amp. I am an artist, entertainer and it's how I make a living. Personally I don't want to sound horrible, which to my ears it usually is.

The same way I would choose a Grand Piano over a Keyboard emulation. Its just not good enough IMO. Great for house etc but not when I'm on stage or recording. Not a chance in hell.

If you can't tell the difference or feel the difference in dynamics in your playing then I don't know whats going on because most people who aren't tone deaf can.

What music do you listen to if you are so against tubes?

Who's your favorite guitarists and your top ten tones?

I would be interested in seeing that list as I'm sure others here would.

You know Johnny, if you get this-
http://www.generalcybersystems.com/Forum.php
up and running, you'll have some like minded individuals to converse with instead of the evil tubies on here.

Looks like it's time to put this thread to pasture. The GP poll has something like 75% of the people polled use tube amps. Tube amps are not going anywhere soon. Why is everyone still posting on this. Most of his threads wind up with a bunch of bickering and name calling. He calls it thought provoking but it's more like argument starting. I think he gets a kick out of it.

If we ignore the thread it will go away.

That does it for me on this thread,as far as I'm concerned when a person resorts to getting personal with insults and name calling he has lost all credibility and the argument.Toodle dee doo Johnny have a good life and please go a-trolling elsewhere.

i was going to start the forum, but i lazed out, maybe one day. but nothing wrong with coming here as a matter of convenience.

funny how those that say put the thread to pasture keep coming back for more. no, i can't say i get kick out of such overdriven distortion, but do find it amusing, one could write a book. toodles to you too.

and along comes someone who REFUSES to play on stage with a solid state amp. REFUSES no less. a teenager?

yes, yes, i know, death to the infidel.

C U in the funny papers,
johnny the infidel.

and the question remains: in a MODERN (ss/digital) amp, made in the 21st century, what technical marvels would you like to have in it?

ciao,
johnny.

This thread has had its moments of actual useful, in-depth information sharing and I kept hoping it would turn around ... but it's time to lock 'er up and move on.
