Hi There,

bought a used CT SE and whilst the sound is OK, this thing drives me crazy since I can not dial in a specific preset. The dial seems to act at random. Since I don't know how a new CT acts in this respect (I suppose you can give the data wheel a spin and can choose out of a logical sequence f memory banks and amps, sounds etc....) Any of you had any experience like this ? I already checked on loose cables etc. and also have reset different times, but nothing seems to work.
What could it be and is it costly to have it fixed ?
Thanks you all !

Highly recommend you do a "factory reset" of the amp before you do anything else. The factory reset wipes out all user parameter data and puts the amp into a factory-fresh state. Please note that resetting the amp will wipe out all exisiting presets in the Player' Lounge and Quick Access and reset them to factory original. If the factory reset fails to correct the problem, then it's bad news and you'll probably need a tech to sort out any existing/remaining problem.

Explanation: on occassion, when you're experimenting with settings, it is possible to configure the amp and put into an unrecoverable flawed state. No idea why the CT allows this to happen (obviously a software/firmware shortcoming), but it does. The good news is that this unrecoverable flawed state can can be completely over-ridden with the built-in factory reset. This causes the amp to return to "normal". This step does not fix any broken hardware, to fix that, you have to see a tech.

general recomendation: whenever the CT acts funny in an unexpected and unexplained manner, it's usually because some internal parameter got funny (out of bounds) and the software/firmware starts to do funny things. then remember this recommendation and do a factory reset (but back up your presets first!) and things should return to normal again.

good luck & ciao,
johnny.

Thanks Johnny for your reply. I already followed the manual to factory reset, but that doesn't help. So I think it's the hardware I guess.
