Hi all,

I play an Ibanez Artstar though an octave pedal into a Frontman 212r, and am wondering if it'd work to build a low cabinet with two oval-shaped woofers in it, to go under the amp, in order to boost my lower end when playing through the Octave pedal.....?

Many thanks for any help you can give......

Are you talking about the oval shaped subwoofers that Boston Acoustics make, or just some regular oval shaped woofers from a car stereo, like 6 x 9's or 6 x 8's? Either way, I don't see how that could sound good. Check out some replacement speakers from Celestion, Weber, and many others to replace those cheap speakers that are in the Frontman 212r. That will help tremendously in the low end department (and won't look corny either) :)

Woofers will really muddy up your sound...if I may recommend get a pair of celestion G30's...they will give you a beautiful sound

Eminence makes some nice speakers that won't break the bank. I've been using an Eminence Texas Heat 12'' speaker that gives me a great bottom end.

BTW, welcome to the fourm.
