So I recently purchased a '65 Twin Reverb 40th Anniversary Twin Reverb. The only problem with this amp is the reverb channel doesn't seem to be working. The Tremolo channel works perfectly, but when I activate the reverb it just produces a hum. I've tried disconnecting the tank, the hum is still produced, swapped out the reverb tube, didn't help.

The only thing I can think of (besides a circuitry problem) is that the FOOT SWITCH I'm using is a Marshall style-standard foot switch, I've tried one other foot switch from a vox, but same problem occurred. Is this amp's foot switch specific to the amp? or do I have a circuitry/grounding problem with my reverb channel?

Thanks!

Try unplugging the footswitch. You don't need the footswitch plugged in to activate the reverb.

Be sure the tank is properly connected. The reverb is tube driven too.

Ok, I guess there is a hum without the pedal connected, it gets louder as I turn up the reverb...

It is also still there when I disconnect the RCA Reverb tank.

I'd start checking tubes or take it to a tech.
