You'll find a serious love for the 600 if you plug it into 1x12 or 2x10 cabinet. The stock speaker is a bit raspy when you push it.

I would keep both...but if I had to choose just one of my amps...it would be the SCXD. There are just a ton of options and and the flexibility it gives you. This amp has replaced my other amps (Marshall and Peavey) for all applications both recording and gigging. JMO... :D

Well, I've decided I'm not selling the SCXD either way, the question is now whether the 600 goes back within the return date.

I cranked up the 600 yesterday, and finally noted the speaker buzzing I've read about. It does sound good despite that - love the pure tube tone, which I think it does better than the SCXD. I'll have to make that decision soon.

Hi everyone, I'm now getting into electric guitar after years of acoustic-only. I have a lovely Martin 000-16CRGTE. I recently got a Strat VG, and bought a SuperChamp XD for the ultimate in versatility. It's nice, and I like that I can choose so many amp models.
I decided to start lessons, but didn't much care to haul the SuperChamp around. I know, it's not that big...

I was able to convince my wife that I "needed" a Champion 600 due to its simplicity and ease of transport. Got one at the new low price of $149. :P

I find I really like the 600's pure tube tone, but start to think I don't really need both. I have 30 days to return the 600 for a refund. Any ideas which I should hang onto? I'm just playing for myself right now, although that could change in the far-future. Thanks in advance.

hi m8,

keep both, play a while, then part exchange the champ 600 for a mid-market valve amp when you ready.

i love my martin. they the bees knees.

Throughout my teenage and young adult years I've had some pretty decent gear. Not the high end stuff I have now, but still ok. As a young lad I had very little money and I always traded stuff in on other gear. Still, I regret selling every piece of gear I've ever gotten rid of. I don't sell anything now. I just keep it. I suggest you keep your stuff too, if you can afford it. :)

YIKES! Heresy! Be gone you devil!

The suggestion alone makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I believe I would sell every piece of electric stuff I have before I'd sell the Martin. I've ben ignoring it lately - not appropriate - but the Strat is soo-oo much fun!

It's pretty sad when my wife is the one telling me to hang onto both while I sweat the contemplation!

Yeah man, I'd never sell my Martin either. It's so sweet. But I play my Strat much more though...

After much debate, I'm just keeping EVERYthing!
:D :D

I like each amp for different reasons, so might as well hold onto them.

Thanks everyone!
