My Frontman 65R has a lot of static coming through. One recommendation was to buy a monster surge protector that cleans the electicity, but it's over $100. Pedals are involved with the set up. Any idea's?

Back when I used to work in broadcasting, the first step in diagnosing a problem is test the cables. You said there's pedals involved... could there be a bad cable somewhere in the chain between your guitar and amp? Is the noise there when you plug your instrument cable directly into the amp? What if you change to another instrument cable - still there? If not, then it's somewhere in the chain. If it's still there, then maybe the amp.
