Yeah, I can see configurable piggybacks coming back in the coming years. And an HRD-style 60-watt head would be about ideal. Then they could just put out a single 12 cab, double 12, a 10 and 12 together, 4-10s, a 15 and 2-15s. Then color key em, or mix n match. A whole configurable customizable amp system to suit each player perfectly.

The heads will need to have a balanced XLR-speaker simmed line out out for PA and recording as well. Kustom has begun to include this in their Coupe and Defender lines, a great idea.

Hi there - Fender has already launched what you are looking for with the Super-Sonic head from the Pro Series. While the HRD is a great amp, the Hot Rod series doesn't surpass the tube amps you will find on the Pro Tube or Vintage Series.

At $1466.65 list for a head, it's a viable option for oil princes. What tube head does Fender make that a working musician can afford?

That's why many of us are calling for a basic, affordable 2-6L6 head with a line of affordable, basic cabs. Really, even the new XD formula could work here: The new Bandmaster XD piggyback system made in China!

Say, 2 12AX7s, and 2 6L6s with the same FM DSP modeling front end, EFX and a line out. W/incl footswitch. Street em for $399 for the head and $199 for a single 12" cab. Or use yer own.

Sell a million.

yea the list is just to high for a super sonic i think if fender were to use the HR
series the piggy back stack could make an affordable come back

id buy 2

the cabs would be important too tho make them interchangeable 1x12 2x12 4x10 3x10 4 12 just a wide range u can use

How about a hand-wired amp for under 800 bucks. The new pcb amps are just horrible.

A Deville head would be cool. I would like to see Fender make a derivative of the SuperSonic, though. Call it the 'SubSonic.' 2 independent, non-master volume channels. One based on the 56FA Bassman, the 2nd on the AB763 Super. Throw in a built-in attenuator and piggy-back it. The best of both classic eras in a volume controllable rig.

I think the idea of a HR head would be cool. I had been thinking about maybe building a bass cab to use as an extension to my DeVille, something to give it a lot more heavy umph, basically just experimenting. It might get me closer to that 59' Bassman sound (with the right specs of course).

But I'm really a fan of combos, I just love'em. But I have nothing against any type of stacks though.

i would like something like a 50 watt blues junior, with an effects loop and clean channel, and in head form.

The old piggyback BF Bandmaster is an oft-overlooked amp. (Though not by Dan Torres of course!) They could just bring that back as an RI and sell a wad of em. 35-40 watts, 2-6L6s, classic, simple, pure, 2-12's, very portable cab.

I don't have the production dates in front of me, but practically every band in America in 1963 had a Bandmaster in the backline. Vox Continental and Lowry organists/Hohner and Wurlitzer pianists loved em being closed back and loud and pretty clean, with a tight bottom end. Every blues band had one. And rock bands playing echoey gyms and big halls had no use for reverb. Truly the Swiss Army knife of amps in its day.
