I really REALLY love my new fender supersonic, the burn channel leaves a little to be desired, not because of the sound, it is just too noisy (even with noiseless pickups) anyway, the reverb tank in the cabinet 1x12 combo is making an audible rattling from the vibration of the amp. I can hear it when i record. I use a footpedal for reverb so im wondering, if i physically take the reverb tank out of the cabinet, (unplug the RCA send and return from the amp) will that hurt the amp. I know the reverb is tube driven. I dont want to break anything... please help

Thanks

Vince

not sure if that would harm the amp but also make sure you turn your level controls on the back of the amp (send and receive controls) all the way off if ur not using the send/receive

Are you positive it's not just tube rattle?

I would look for other problems first. I don't think the reverb tank would be rattling on a new Super Sonic, or any high end amp for that matter. Tube rattle is very possible. Also, sometimes a rattle could be coming from a totally different place from where it sounds like it's coming from. Can you borrow a buddy's ear to listen all around everywhere while you play? Hope you resolve your problem. I know how frustrating a buzz or rattle can be.

Just play a note and touch each tube one at a time with a pencil eraser, If the rattle stops, that's the tube that rattles. Combos have a higher tendency to develop tube rattle.
