Here's a couple suggestions. If the volume is suddenly normal and then going away it could be your control pedal (if you're using one). If you have the Cyber-Controller or Behringer FCB-1010 make sure you rock the pedals back and forth several times to calibrate them every time you turn the Cyber-Twin on.

Another thing you want to check are the gain and volume settings on the sounds that you can barely hear. It could be the gain or volume setting on those sounds are too low.

You more or less have 3 controls on the amp that control your volume. Besides the gain and master volume the 1st knob (control) on your control panel should be adjusted first before you set your gain and master volume. Did you get the manual and a DVD with your purchase?

It would be unusual if you only had it for a few months, but it could be a bad tube when you experience that many variables. To be honest we are looking for the most obvious causes but I had an amp that was "crackling" at times and then there was no sound. When I took it apart I noticed one resistor that had a bad soldering job at one end and was vibrating when the amp was played. After I touched it up with the soldering iron it worked fine. But in your case you are saying that at times the volume just increases so it is a good possibility it is a tube.
