I'm really disappointed with my BJ. Since I got my Fender BJ, I have had various problems:

1. V1 and V2 Bulbs (12AX7) came loose.
2. The bulb V4 (EL84) is in the wrong position (sideways) and a twisted guide.

As we begin to test it, comes the first problem:
After 20 minutes of operation, beginning with the sounds of popping.

I took the test the bulbs and 2 of them were not good.
Then I changed the 3 (12AX7) for a Electro Harmonic (V1, V2 and V3).

When I turn on my amplifier appear noises (explosions), then I called a technician.

He checked the amp slightly, and bent a little hoses that connect the bulbs and the noises disappeared. Apparently he had a false contact.

After a few days of using it, I see that one of the bulbs EL84, the V5 position, has more orange hue than the rest, striking the rest of the bulbs.

And we add that after playing a long time (one hours and half), the sound ranges: low and slowly rising slowly. I do not know how to define it exactly. After a while it does not do.

The amp I bought in the U.S., via the Internet. I live in Mexico. I can not complain where I bought it, because when you send it back to U.S. would be importing the product, so when I come back again would have to pay import taxes.

Any suggestion that it may be happening?

If I remember correctly there is some shipping paperwork (if using UPS) that will allow you to ship it back to the US and get it returned to you without paying any additional import fees/taxes.

Thanks for the reply. In my case I used FEDEX service.

FEDEX might have the same thing. Check with them.

He bought an amp that was made in Mexico, from an American supplier, and had it shipped to back to Mexico.
A homecoming of sorts.

I live in mexico and work temporarily for the reason that I bought in the U.S. is that costs half what it costs in Mexico. Well, this happens with almost all things.

Just as you must be thinking I put it to the people of Fender, which has no service in Mexico, because the irony is that the amplifiers are assembled here

I replied that was a matter of law between Mexico and USA

I bought at Sam Ash in amplifier, but they do not recognize shipping from Mexico to USA and USA to Mexico (new amplifier by guarantee)

If what you already spent most of bulbs + technical visit and also add shipping costs to USA warranty + postage amplifier replacement would be buying other more expensive amp model.

Regards

Problem being solved with the help of billm. Apparently the bulb V5 is wrong, I change it yet follow the instructions that I gave Bill (http://billmaudio.com/wp/?page_id=171).

Genius Bill!
