Gordon the ticking is the result of the pre amp signal gain being increased and decreased by the Vib circuit. The easiest method would be to replace V5 with a quiet low gain 12AX7, something like a super blah Sovtek. All you're looking for here is a functioning tube. If you want to go further, you could replace the plate load reistors on V5&V6 with 1watt metal film resistors, but this could affect the tone. ART

Thank you, gatornavy and aclempoppi, for your help with my DRRI's vibrato ticking. I tried an old tube in V5, but I guess it wasn't weak enough to stop the ticking. The amp is now with a tech, so I'll see how that goes.

You're welcome. Pls let us know what the tech determines. It's a great sounding amp and I hope it gets back to you soon- I hate days when I can't play mine!! Good luck!!!

Fixed it! All the tech had to do was...wait for it...move a wire.

Good news, Gordon! Yeah lead dress, you've got a good tech there. I apologize about the bum steer on the tube, man! ART
