One of my power tubes isn't getting any power, any ideas?? I've checked for loose connections but didn't find any.

Probably just a cracked trace on the thin PCB used in the Hot-Rod amps.
The tube sockets are soldered directly to the PCB and the connections occasionally let go from heat or movement or vibration..
Been there done that (a few times on multiple hot-rod amps), tech just re solders the broken trace and the amp is good to go till the next time it happens.

It is really a job for a tech unless you are comfortable working with high voltages found inside tube amps that can easily kill if the wrong thing is touched.

Fixed.

Ya, I did not want to say that was my usual recommendation now too when it comes to the hot-rod series amps :) burned twice, thrice shy ?

Seriously, good luck with it.
Have a tech touch up all the tube socket solder joints and check the two 5 watt cement resistors. If they're scorching the board, have them replaced as well, but tell him to leave about a quarter inch space between the resistors and the board for air flow.

Again, good luck.

Just wondering if retrofitting chassis mount Power & PI tube sockets to these amps is a viable alternative. I haven't had a Hot Rod series on my bench( work on the older amps), so I'm not sure of clearances with existing board standoffs. The pre amp tubes don't get hot enough to cause any desoldering effects, right? Or do the trace problems occur all over the board? ART

My problems (on both amps) have been with the V3 tube which is a 12ax7 playing the phase inverter part.

I suspect the troubles come from a thin PCB that is used, other amps have surface mount sockets and don't have these annoying issues.

Of course we are guessing here, the issue may be something as simple as a dead tube. (power tubes need to be changed in matched pairs if that is the issue)
A visit to a tech should locate the issue and let you know what needs to be done to get it working again.
