Hey ART should I get the JAN-Phillips 5751 for all my pre amp tubes or just for the phase inverter? I was reading this http://thetubestore.com/gainfactor.html and it tells how the 5751 have 30% less gain then the 12AX7. Now my FCV hows a loud hum which I heard is notorious with these amps. Will putting 5751 in all my pre amp tubes quiet my amp more? Thanks for all your help man!

Floyd, I would get the balanced 5751 for the phase inverter. The other pre amp tubes should remain the same types that are spec. for the amp. Now, if you could also get one regular JAN 5751,you could experiment with it in the V1, V2, V3 positions to see if it sounds better to you. IMHO you're going to want 12AX7's in V1& V2 for a more lively tone, or at least one of them. Another option is NOS7025"s in V1 and/or V2 positions(low noise 12AX7), but they are very pricey and may not be cost effective for you. I'm curious about this"notorious" hum syndrome in this amp. It doesn't seem right to me ! ART

Floyd , the V6- GE6201 should be a balanced triode tube. I guess the Tung Sol tubes are the newer ones, that would be fine . The 5751's are good tubes, but I don't know what type or style of playing you do to . They are lower gain tubes , and I use them in one channel, but I play mostly Blues. ART
