Hi folks. I'm checking out the SCXD at my local store. It sounds great - especially compared to my GDEC Junior. They sound (from feedback here) as if they are reliable enough. Just curious, where are they made? I forgot to look!

Thanks,

Probably either Mexico or China. I know the GDEcs are from China. Nothing wrong with that as long as QC is on the ball.

Yeah, I agree. I have had my little GDEC junior replaced twice (under warranty - thank you Fender) so quality is the issue more than country of origin. Like I said - just curious.

My GDec was replaced too because of a faulty data wheel so I upgraded to a GDec 30.

It is made in China.

They are made in China. I only bought mine to use for practicing to backing tracks. Since I have only had it for 6 weeks I can't really say how reliable they are. So far I haven't had any problems.

While the SCXD is made in China don't let that deter you from buying one. I love mine, it is well made and has a lot of nice features. Even Fender's reissue vintage amps have some Chinese components. I think you'll find the SCXD to be a great little amp.

Thanks for the replies. The very brief noodling I had a chance to do in the music store sounded sooooo much better than my GDEC Junior.

Any others in this sort of class to try? I like Fender, but what about a Valvetronics or a Blackheart?

Cheers, Gridlok
