On my Marshall JVM 410H, when the amp is ON but in STANDBY, the line out (and emulated line out) are active; that is, the preamp is on and only the power tubes are being kept warm. Great for direct recording, etc.

Question: does the SuperSonic operate the same way? When the amp is on, but still in standby, is there preamp'ed signal at the line out jack? That would be cool.

I'll answer my own question now that I have a Supersonic 60:

With the amp in standby, lineout is dead; in addition, if you send something to effect "send", but nothing is in the return, nothing is sent regardless of the "effect' button setting.

I had my SS modified by Val King to install a "hot" standby switch: with the amp on and NOT in standby, the switch can turn OFF the power amp, but keep the preamp alive.

For places (like headphone rehearsing) when you don't want room volume, that seems to be the only way to send your sound to the HP board, and keep the speakers off with amp section off as well to save the power tubes.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.
