I just bought a Fender Pro Junior Amplifier last week and it has been making a buzzing/humming sound ever since i tried it. When i turn it on, it takes a few seconds to buzz. Even when the volume is at the lowest there is still the buzz sound. When i turn it up, the buzzing gets only a little worse. When i plug my guitar with my amp you can really notice the buzzing getting worse if you turn the volume up. I would like to know why my brand new fender pro junior amp is making a buzzing noise and how i can stop it plzzzz. I am soooo pissed at it.
THX :D

Here is my amp http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Pro- ... 1145368.gc

Be sure your not near florescent lights, computer monitors, or even your cell phone. Use a good quality guitar cable too. Try a different guitar if you can try a different room or outlet. If it's plugged into a surge protector, try it without it. If it's new and if nothing helps, TAKE IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand why people just don't return stuff if you're not happy with it.

I had the same problem with mine. Took it to the Fender repair Center in Nashville.
THey changed the tubes and transformers and wrapped/tied up the signal wires away from the power wiring. According to the tech, it was the wiring work that did the trick but he did the other work also.

One thing you might want to try before doing anything else. There have been reports about the middle screw in the rear (at the top) hitting one of the pots and creating a hum. A number of people have reported success by backing that screw out just a few turns.

If it's a new amp, it should be under warranty. If it's used and under 5 years old, the previous owner could transfer the warranty. Otherwise, it just depends on the shop.

They can be noisy amps, but if new, use the warranty.

This might be of help for anyone whose PJ is out of warranty. It was written by Billm, a kind of guru on BJ and PJs and many other Fender amps :
