I am having a bit of trouble switching out the preamp tubes in my fender 4x10 60 watt deville.

I took off the back of the amp, but still cant seem to get them out. Do they just need a bit more elbow grease? Do i need to take out the circuit board which they seem attached (which does not seem possible) to expose the neck of the tube more?

Any tips or tricks would be most, MOST appreciated. I am trying to be as gentle as possible with my baby.

Use a towel, just grab the tube, give it a little wiggle (emphasis on little, don't wanna bend the pins) while pulling and should pop out. Make sure you put some electrical contact cleaner on the new tube before putting it in, that should help make it easier to get out next time plus the tube will get a better connection.
