Im not the most knowledgable with amps yet but I've always heard that if your amp "pops" everytime you turn it on then somethings wrong with it. It only "pops" when i turn it on first, once it warms up it wont "pop" unless it cools down for a while. Is this normal?

I don't think it's abnormal. You might try turning all the volume off before you operate the on/off switch. It's good practice to avoid having any signal running through it when you turn it on or off.
