Has anyone compared both of these amps? I've been hearing rave reviews on the Vox AC4TV amp with it's built in power attenuator and 10" Celestion speaker.

I think I'm feeling another GAS attack for that Vox AC4TV. Man I hate it when I work nearby a Guitar Center....my lunch breaks becomes a GAS shopping spree, specially GC having the Vox for $199 plus my 10% off on top of that

I'd say go for the Vox. The Champion 600, people say, sounds a bit small and the overdrive causes the speaker to have problems. The AC4 looks cool, too.

My votes for the Vox too. The 600 sounds horrible when the speaker gets pushed. Sounds a little boxy to me too.

Well you guys are right! This VOX AC4TV is a Fender Champion 600 Killer, it certainly blows it away. Does not have the boxy tone like the Champ 600 does. Much more versatile as well, specially with the built in power attenuator, so many diferent tones using it compared to the champ 600.

I got a great deal on it as well, less than $200 out the door, sales tax already included.

Now, my Pro Jr in the shop for warranty repair, I figured I should by another amp just to hold me over :D

Stock with its crappy tubes, pitiful transformer and less than capable speaker, the 600 is easily beaten by the AC4. But if you replace the bad tubes with good, get a nice Mercury Magnetics transformer and a Weber speaker, 600 becomes a beast. Granted after all is said and done with it'll end up costing around $500 for the whole package, but that's a bargain compared with the 57 champ reissue >_>

Myself I'm waiting for the 57 champ reissue to fall in price, there's no way that many people are going to shell out a grand for that lil amp <_<

Well ya, the vox is 100 more , a little bigger and it has a 10 inch speaker. What did you expect? I think the champion would have done better with a bigger speaker.Anyone ever run it into a cab?

The Vox AC4TV comes in two flavors. A 10" combo and a Head and Cab combo, about $100 more for the head and cab combo. I paid only $50 more for the Vox AC4TV combo, $199 instead of the usual $249. So between the Champ 600 at $149 and the Vox AC4TV for $199, I went for the better sounding amp. So far I like the tone I'm getting.

I was just informed that there is also a smaller version of the AC4TV. Aside from the 10" combo, there is also a recent addition of a 8" AC4TV combo. Its much smaller, similar size as the champ 600. I would be very interested in a head to head comparison on those two.

Here is the 8" celestion speaker version of the AC4TV 10". Apparently, only Guitar Center sells them in the USA. These smaller versions were originally sold for Japan only. This amp will probably a good competitor with the Champ 600.
