I'm thinking about grabbing one of these little 5 watt amps because it looks kinda cool. I have 2 questions. I was told that it's been discontinued is that true? Also any one own one of these? How do they sound, any problems? Any input would appreciated!

I hear it's a great amp. Some might say that you're paying way too much for an amp with one control that you can't use well outside the studio.

You can probably have it built for about half the price here:

Or contact Sara Richter, and get one for cheap. SHe doesn't have one on the site right this second, but she'll build one one, and do a real nice job.

The magic isn't in the nameplate, it's in the circuit.

Well, it's a FENDER '57 Champ Reissue, handwired.
Just in case you would consider reselling it ( just a theoretical assumption )

It's not that big a deal. It's not going to go up in value and it's really no better than a clone. One poster on this forum got a REAL 57 Champ for $300. I've seen real 57 Champs for less and you can get one custom built for the same cash. The original didn't have e Weber speaker and Groove Tubes or spade connectors to speed up production. So what's your point? A grand for a practice amp? I'll pass. I wouldn't care if Leo wired it himself.
Just another overpriced toy that the general masses need to take a loan out to enjoy.
In case you forgot, ALL tubes amps used to be hand-wired. I have 2 now.

Man,
mine was also wired in 230V
And I like it ,being overpriced is just your opinion. For me it's just peanuts
I won't buy a TOKAY because it's cheaper than a FENDER, everything being"similar"

Overpriced is right. I'm sure there are a lot of guys with the cash, who could buy that. Even if I did, I'm simply not willing to drop that much coin for an amp you can't use well outside your bedroom or studio. The Deluxe Reverb costs the same, but imho, outclasses it in every way. I have heard both, and I really like the Deluxe a lot better.

Thats another thing thats confusing me. I see it for a grand on some sites, yet at guitar center they were selling it there for 120 dollars.

I agree that you do need another amp if you consider gigging in medium to large venues (save for using it through a PA) ; same if you're looking for crystal clear sounds.
I'll use mine mostly for recording as if you play it at 5, it's already too loud for a bedroom practice.

You're confusing what it's worth to what it costs. :D

You may be looking at the 600 and not the 57 reissue. It's a grand and IMO and only worth half that tops.
