Have there been any significant changes to the Blues Deluxe Reissue in the last 4-5 years? I'm looking to buy a used one, but I want to make sure it has most of the current model's options. Any help?

IMO I wouldn't buy anything used in the Hot Rod series unless the seller transfers the warranty.

Location: I don't even know that!
Not that I have any knowledge of. I would play it just to see if that's what you want, or if you want something more. Don't fix what's not broken ya know? Of course, now we shall await for yet another negative comment from 63supro about the hot rod series of amps.

The upgrades that i know of is the reverb is now switchable and its much stronger.I think they added a bias and smoothed out the drive channel.

Just trying to save another person some aggravation. I sold my headache last week. It doesn't change a thing about the Hot Rod series. If it was any good I'd still have it. If so many people didn't have the same problems I had with mine, I wouldn't feel the need to give them a heads up on what they may possibly be in for. Egnater fixed my problem once and for all. :D

I would be curious to see what the failure rate is.I am 4 for 4 , but i dont gig maybe once or twice a month and i transport my own equipment.I used to gig with a blues jr once a week for a while without any problems.Knock on wood , i have yet to have a problem.I know alot of guys have posted problems with them, but does that mean there are alot of failures percentagewise or that the ones that are happy with them arent saying anything.I know some people have had problem after problem.

I think most people that but them are first time tube amp owners and have nothing to compare it too. I'm out a lot and don't see a whole lot of HRDlx amps in a gigging situation. I mostly see Deluxe Reverbs, Bassmans an occasional Twin, some Ampegs and Marshall halfstacks. I'm seeing more and more boutique amps. It's usually younger guys who have the Hot Rods. I was an exception. I was looking for something different.

I know a couple here in Cleveland. One is an older guy maybe 40ish .Been around a while, another was in a younger harder rock band and my friend Dave who plays out occasionally plays a deville. It surely is much cheaper than some of the others. When i play out , i like to use my Bassman .If I have to go small , i still have a blues jr that i play occasionally.I also have a 75 super reverb, but its really too heavy for me to gig with.I am actually thinking of selling it and get a silverface deluxe reverb. It would be much better on my back and i wouldnt have to play the jr at smaller gigs.I like the bigger tubes anyways.

[quote="hottrod" Of course, now we shall await for yet another negative comment from 63supro about the hot rod series of amps.[/quote]

Negative comments come from lousy products. Build a better product and you won't see negative comments. I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with the HRD series. I've been around too long to sugar coat things. Anyone who has a problem with a piece of equipment and says nothing, shame on you, you deserve everything you get.

After using Fender amps for over 40 years, I finally came to the realization that the good old reliable Fender Musical Instrument Company has been abducted by a corporation that only cares about a quick buck. Most of the Hot Rod amps are landfill before they hit 10years old. They do have a good hype department though.
