Okay, it's only a month away, and in the new home of American blues, Austin. Sorry Chicago. Who's willing to stick their neck out and predict what's coming?

I'll start: A 6V6 Princeton stripper sans soak (come on, you've only got around 15 watts to play with anyways!) and all that silly stompbox jazz. Selling not for $999 but this time for $599. And if they de-vintaged it with a 12", they couldn't make enough of em. Is Fender smart enough to make this brilliant play?

I'll take zero predictions as a vote for no new product from Fender amp-wise at NAMM. Do you back that up Fender Folk???

I still want a single-ended amp with reverb, e.g, the Champion 600R.

How about a single-ended 15-20 watt monotube power stage amp from Fender with power soak a la the much-anticipated Peavey Windsor Studio? You can swap out tubes from 6L6s to KT66s to whatever. Fender would sell about a gazillion of em. Totally giggable, pure Class A, a boutique sound made in China on PCBs and all for under $500! That would be the hit of the show. Especially since Peavey can't figure out how to make theirs and their shipping date has slipped into the late Fall or worse.

I'm with Maruuk. I'd like to see something like the Peavey Windsor.

Please drop us some hints Fender!

Okay, that cockiness suggests at least a presence and something new! It's funny, new guitars from Fender don't do much for me as they already have that covered in spades. They had everything we'd ever need by 1956! But amps, whole nuther story. A new amp is like a new car or a new girlfriend--infinitely intriguing. You forget about eating, work, bathing and going to the bathroom. You just want to keep playing with it forever and exploring all the possibilites.

No, no ... please don't mind me. I was totally just kidding as from this side of the fence the NAMM show seasons are typically pretty intense. (Example: I and other members of this team worked 40 hours straight at one point during this past Winter show!)

As for sharing teasers about upcoming products and whatnot, truthfully this is the kind of thing that I (from my perch on the web team) cannot realistically speak to. That said, it's a good example of the type of thing that will no doubt come with good behavior -- i.e., if this community can continue to maintain its current friendly/respectful demeanor as it grows into 5- (and even 6-) digit membership you can bet that stuff like this will follow!

Yeah, if this forum, as opposed to the "other" forum not to be named, ends up as the place where you can get a little Fender contact--not customer service mind you--just occasional friendly hints about upcoming products and a little advice and such--we would RULE!

I understand Brad's position and he just can not let any hints out here. My brother works for Roland and he can't even give me hints.

I know Brad's boss http://www.fenderforum.com/userphotos/index.html?recid=14419 and he won't even give me a hint.

You're right, they can't violate company policy, but David Plagman just announced their new "expression"-based pedal line coming to NAMM over in the Lounge forum. So there must be a little daylight. At any rate, as soon as the PR goes out on exciting new product, we do expect them to come in here and answer a few questions about it. That should be one of the core values of this place.

Shane's not my boss, actually, but he's certainly a very cool dude and one HECK of a fine guitar picker. Hope you had a chance to hear him play somethin' when you met him!

I think you can expect the kind of interaction Maruuk is describing to a certain degree but it'll primarily crop up in cases wherein there are lingering topics that the forum members don't seem to be making much progress with on their own. Then again, I'll be the first to admit that I'm mainly just speculating here -- I think it'd be foolish to set anything in stone yet here just 3 weeks in!
