:( My second Super Sonic arrived and had the same loud snap, crackle, popping issues in the Bassman voice at levels above (3.5), has any-one else had these issues or ideas about what could be causing this ? I have tried different Mogami (Gold) cables and different guitars the problem is in the amp.

8/17/09-I went to Celestion.com and found Dr. Decibels method for breaking in new speakers, after some time of playing I found the noise was steadily decreasing, now it seems to be totally gone :D for any new amp buyers you may want to check this out. :

8/18/09 Noise is back ! any advice tube techs? :(

8/20/09 OK I have finally narrowed it down to the input Jack , it is too loose!!!, this is a vendor part defect in my opinion since I had the same issue on my first SS, if you plug into the input jack you will find there is no resistance when sliding in your guitar cable until the last 3/16 of an inch, I found if I played at loud levels the jack connection would "Make & Break", if I held the jack firm in the input pushing on it while hitting a low note I did not get the crackle and popping as soon as I let go I would get the unwanted noise, this was happening in the Vibrolux and burn voices as well , if you would plug your cable in any other 1/4 jack on this amp with power off you would be able to tell the difference in "feel" between them and the main input jack. Hope this helps someone else and ,Uhmm Thanks for your valuable input. Still beside this issue the SS is a great sounding amp and very versitle.

8/29/09 The reverb on this SS started making unwanted noise (banging garbage can lids in a cave), even when nothing was plugged into the input and even with reverb volume set to "1", so I returned it , just too many issues, I also found the the hard valued EQ settings between the Vibrolux and Bassman channel were just too extreme for switching between the two voices, the Vibrolux should have been thickened up a bit more because as it was it sounded too thin, the Bassman also added boost along with mid and bass, Fender could have done a better job making the two voices compatible without having to adjust amp's EQ levels, I would not mind it if I could just adjust my guitar tone control to make up the difference but as it was there is too much variation between the two voices, In addition the effects loop is just too noisy even with send/receive levels below 12 o'clock, I cannot recommend this amp to anyone. I will be getting a 65 Princeton Reissue instead.
