Hoping someone can help me with some advice. I'm currently using a Fender Bassman 300 pro (all tubes). It's time for me to get a new cab and it seems as though the smallest cab Fender is offering right now is the 6x10s. That just wouldn't work for me. The manual says its matched perfectly for the Fender 410h, but that appears to be discontinued. So basically i need a cab that can handle the head. I'd love for it to be Fender, but I'm open to other options.

Also, does anyone know if the amp clips on this model if it's actually hurting anything or if it's just letting me know its past the threshold? The clip light seems to pop on once and a while while attacking the low end. What would be the first thing to adjust as I love the sound I'm getting.

Thanks,
Dustin

I don't know what style your playing, but adjusting the compressor might help the clip problem. As far as a cabinet, you might look at the bassman 410.

Isnt there a switch on the head for 2, 4 and 8 ohms? That cab is 8 ohms.

Hi, according to what i read about the bassman head it has an impedence switch on the back, which you would have to set to 8 ohms. As far as the cabinet, it will handle 700 watts program so that should be plenty of cushion. The compressor settings should be set so the bottom and hi ends should be at the same level, if the head has that feature.

I went back and read about the compressor on your head. I would adjust the low comp and if your not compressing the hi end leave it alone.

Thanks so i would turn the low compression up correct? And I guess I'm just worried about using what seems like a "cheaper" cab with such a nice head....

Hey, the way i read the manual, your compressor goes from a 1:1 to a 4:1 ratio, so i guess you will have to adjust it until the low end and hi end sound even as far as volume. Also, you might try lowering the low boost. Your manual reccomends either the bassman 410 or the bassman 215 cabinets. I found this on the specs page.
