Was wondering if we could have a section for the G-DEC and B-DEC where people can discuss/recommend settings, share midi files, and generally talk about the amp?

Thanks for the suggestion and that's not a bad idea! Any other G-DEC / B-DEC owners agree?

Although I don't own one YET, not a bad idea. Can it be renamed the " G-DEC and D-DEC Owners Club ". Or may separate them into two different
threads.

With 30Hz's permission of course.

I would enjoy a seperate section for G-DEC, DEC 30, and D-DEC. Although I have not had the DEC-30 for very long, I enjoy it more than anyother amp that I have owned. It is a great tool for sharpening your skills. Thanks Fender.

I've gone through the documentation, the manual for the amp as well as the lil online videos. I feel there needs to be a little more in depth look into the amp features and a more thorough explanation of what does what and what the possibilities are. Maybe I'm looking for a B-DEC for dummies, heh heh. So I'm hoping as a community we can kinda help each other out.

I'm sure just with the amp function there are numerous settings users could share. I'm not 100% sure but I think these amps also accept and transmit midi files so users could design their own warm-up exercises/lessons, rhythm tracks, even songs that players would want to learn.

So yeah I think the DEC users could benefit from their own community section here on Fender forums. Be nice if we could get the Fender official DEC guru to look in on the section and offer advice too.

I say go for it. I love my G-Dec 30.

Is there a way to loop on a Chord progression? I know how to set up a chord progression on the front panel, but I'd like to loop on it over and over.

It must be possible, but I didn't see it in the manual.

Thanks!

OK Mods let's do it!

I'm curious what settings people use and such.

Hi,
I agree that this amp needs a little more info and a lot less languages. Most of the presets have nothing to do with the music I am playing and unless you know every slang term for sounds, you are lost. I bought it with the idea that it would be more easily customizable to what you play and sharpen up rhythm skills. The manual offers little in this arena and even though it is pretty good technically, it is difficult to put in the right combos of sounds for an acoustic, effectless, clean sound without all the bs noise. I want it to be an extension of what the acoustic Martin I bought with it, but am finding that combined with the fishman preamp difficult to do. There is no preset to say adjust to your liking with minimal other crapola thrown in with arcane names. I bought it as a tool, not a toy to make fuzz tones and wah-wah noises, which are way out of line for the music I play, country blues, folk, acoustic sounds that need amplification and the additional bass and drum beats to complement, not overpower. Maybe I am hoping for too much but a manual that addresses the best use and an easier sound adjustment preset would be the ideal. I do not know amps, as I have played solo and thought I needed some structure to my interpretations to jam better with others. Am I missing something here? Does it have to be hooked to midi to achieve what I am looking for or is it this endless hunt and peck of sounds, rhthms to get what I am looking for. I love the concept, but was expecting ease of use that didn't drive you crazy playing the same pattern over and over. I have a casio electric piano that does a lot of these things, but only two hands. I feel Fender is remiss in putting out a product with the techs but not the licks or the roadmap to achieve that. What can it do that I can use? without endless fiddling through the presets. It is a great tool, sounds good, but as with all electronic stuff, lacks real information on the best use of it for your purposes. Whining the Blues, Keep it simple, and move to the advanced with some clarity and explanation. Lee

I would love to partake in a B-DEC forum, sharing settings for favourite songs and artists, and exchanging info on how-to's.
I understood before buying it, that it would take time to master and take full advantage. I look forward to this learning curve, and improving my skill.

Excellent idea! I just responded to a post earlier today where a guy is looking for a straight up clean sound. Very cool amp for not only beginners but I'd say any players. It is indeed frustrating getting "your sound" but it's a matter of trying different things. Shoot for the $250 I think I paid for mine, it does alot! As I stated in my other reply, it was clearly marketed to the youth market hence the overwhelming majority of distorted metal type presets. I'm slowly creating my own presets to my liking. keep this going, I think it'll help everybody a ton. Fender, one thing you might consider is giving seminars on these amps at dealers, especially for us olders folks who aren't knowledgeable about interfacing a computer or midi device with the amp. Thanks to all for any advice.

Yes I agree with more info on the GDEC....I happen to own one with gremlins. I have looked to other forums and found only one person with the same issue I'm having. When I turn the GDEC on I get a looping "loading host" msg that just flickers ...I thought it was a voltage issue because it stopped when I wiggled the power chord once at the amp. Now it just does it all the time no matter what position the cable is in....I love the amp when it works...bought it for my daughter last christmas to keep her from using my rig all the time...help!! :?

I think that would be just outstanding! I am rather "techno-duh" and have little patience with anything not simply plug-n-play, mostly because I would rather use my limited time to play than figure the stuff out. So yes, I would like to benefit from the work of others for free! Really, tho...I don't understand the whole MIDI thing, and all the instructions seem to assume some basic knowledge. I know what it is (kind of), but that's about it. :?

Here, Here! I think it is a must for the owners of these units. So much to know and it would help if users could share info.

I have been using my G-DEC30 quite a bit and I can tell I have not scratched the surface.
