I've always been a Fender guy and currently own about a dozen different Fender amps. Lately I've been favoring the smaller guys - less weight to lug around and still good sounds whether I'm practicing or playing out.

I also have a soft spot for my various Peavey amps - my vote for # 2.

The Marshall Plexi 100w & 1987XL 50w versions to me are the best sounding amps ever made for Classic Rock & gritty Blues. They have "The Tone" however, they are ridiculously loud (they need to be pushed to sing like only they can) & not at all practical for nearly all gigging situations.

Fender Blackface Clean is equally beautiful to my ears yet obviously very different from all things Marshall.

Peavey Classics make my list of favorites in terms of being well built, reliable, affordable, & combining a nice clean tone with a nice drive channel & still keeping it simple.

Victoria 5112. A classic champ circuit but with 12" speaker. 5 watts but plenty loud and great natural overdrive. Why Fender do not offer this, I do not know.

I own several amps and can't really say which one is my favorite. I think that changes with my mood, guitar I'm using, etc.

I have a HRD, Supersonic 22, Egnater Tweaker, Mesa Boogie Maverick, Mesa Boogie Express 5:25 and a PRS 2 channel C.

Tonight I played the Supersonic 22 and just loved the sounds I got (both clean and dirty) once I dialed it in for the guitar I was using. I did not "need" this amp. I bought it because I liked it. Now that I've had it for a while, I like it even more! I can't say that about every piece of gear I've bought. It also has the best clean sound out of any amp that I own.
