I want to vote for Marshall, but just can't bring myself to do it because they've made so much utter crap over the years. Just ear-splittingly-loud, grainy sounding "scooped-mids" garbage. Ugh. I think the Class 5 is really the first sweet-sounding newer, non-reissue amp they've made, in, God, how long?

I'll vote for Fender. I know Hendrix is associated with Marshall, but IMO, one of the most wicked guitar tones of all time - the long "Voodoo Chile" - Fender Bassman.

Old Fender SF and BF, The new Fender amps aren't really Leo's anymore, they're just sort of based on the old stuff and have been tinkered with and of course Egnater.

I have a DRRI, a Mesa 5:50, and a Marshall 2466. I also have a Marshall class 5. I like the DRRI for low volume gigs, with a Carl Martin Plexitone pedal turning it into a Marshall. You see for leads, I like the thick Marshall sound. Off goes the pedal and I have cleans. The Mesa has better cleans than the DRRI, like pulling a blanket off the DRRI. But I still like the DRRI. For outdoors, the 100watt Marshall half stack comes out. The Marshall Class 5 sounds dismal to the other 3 of my amps; just honking mid range. I'm trading it for a Super Champ or Blues Jr..

I chose "Other".
My Rivera is without a doubt the best amplifier I've ever played let alone owned.
I also like the older Boogies. Great crunch tones. The newer Boogies ... ummm ... not so much. They may be the most popular amps Boogie has ever made but that doesn't make them good IMO.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I have 4 Fender amps. If I were to get another amp it would be a Peavey classic 30.
Tried one at a music store a few months ago and really liked it.

I too love Peavey Classic 30 combos! I have heard people demo them at GC and also I dig the Peavey video demo on it. I felt it is the best sounding amp they make.

I play what sounds good. Had a Peavey Windsor Half Stack. Loved that amp! My back hated it, so it had to go. Got rid of it on a trade. I got my trade on CL. Peavey Ultra 60 4X10. Kinda setup like a Hot Rod Deville, but with high gain distortion. Really want to get a <50 watt Marshall combo or an Egnater.

I voted Fender by the way.

I have to say after going through what i can only describe as the very best customer service from anyone ever !!!!!
I'm getting to be a HUGE egnater fan !!!!

The Fender name will forever have a place in my heart, however besides Brad here at this forum it's pretty faceless any more, You need a Leo or Bill Schultz to stand up and say "this is mine and I'm proud of it" Just like Bruce Egnater is doing !

And if anyone works for Fender They better be proud of it too and do the very best for their customers they can !!!

See I could be CEO !!! LOL !

But that is exactly whats going on at Egnater, A face on the company and Pride in excellence.

I'm very happy with mine. I've had it for a few years now, and haven't had any issues with it at all. Very solid, rugged amp, and good tone, too.

O.K.
Egnater is making me come back to Fender with my hat in my hand.
They shipped back my chassis and in the bottom of the box I found my power tubes all loose and in pieces.
A pot was bent on the back and the knob was rolling about the bottom of the box.

Come on !!! Shipping tubes without wrapping them seperately ?????? Really !

And no reply to my e-mail about it.

Ya want to make happy customers ? take care of the details and treat the product your selling as if it was yours.

Details !!!!!

I love my Fender drri I use it at church. I use my line 6 pod in normal channel & the reverb channel for my clean tones.
I also have a Marshall jcm 800 50 watt amp. It's just too loud & it used to be very clean sounding, took it to a repair guy & he took out 2 electronic parts it dirtyed it up a little.
Now n youtube I've been looking at a Ceriatone ots Which is a copy of the dumble amp. Nice creamy distortion like a steely dan or a Robben Ford sound.
