 I recently got a Fender 212 DSP amp for my birthday. Ive been trying to find some good band sounding set up's, I managed to get a good AC/DC sound going but does anyone have any more? perhaps Metallica,
G n R or Iron Maiden. Any would be much appreciated! Thanks guys. :D

I owned this amp for about a year and frankly had a difficult time getting tones out of it that I was really happy with. The clean tones sounded pretty decent, but the distorted tones just didn't sound all that good to my ears.

I remeber usually using the 'Tweed' and 'Blackface' amp settings, with the bass turned up and the treble turned down (it's a very trebly amp!). The 'Jazz' setting was pretty good, as well -- I thought the 'Metal' setting, though, was pretty horrific.

For getting a good "heavy metal" tone ala Metallica, you may have to invest in a good distortion pedal (you can get them fairly cheap used on Craigslist or Ebay). While you're at it, you might also want to look at buying an EQ pedal (like the Boss GE-7) -- it might help rounding out your tone a little.

The 212 DSP is overall pretty decent for a solid state amp. It was very reliable for me -- and certainly loud enough! You'll just have to spend a lot of extra time tinkering with the various settings to get exactly the kind of tones you're looking for...
