Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the reverb on this amp. I bought the Fender frontman 212r yesterday and everything plays really clean and noise free until I put the level of reverb up at all. I get a whiney squeally tone in the background until I turn the reverb totally back down again...

Im hoping I havn bought a dud as I love the reverb sound if it wasnt for this noise...

Any help would be great,

Thanks :D

the circuit boards in the reverb tank are rather prone to breaking and such. its possible that some freak stresses were put on the RCA plugs somewhere along the line, which could cause a problem.

just check inside the tank, see if anything looks unusual. check all your connections. i'm just throwing this out there, not too sure what would cause a "squeal" in a reverb circuit.

I don't think it has anything to do with the circuitry... These amps feature a spring reverb unit. It may have gotten "jared" pretty hard during shipping or by a previous owner. It should be too expensive to get repaired. Take it to a local shop and see what they can tell you.

My 212R sounds fantastic, but the reverb tone is thin and metalic. If I turn it up past 3 (into the audible range) it is not pleasing to my ears. FYI, these tanks are rumored to be made by AXL, not Accutronics/Belton.

I use a reverb pedal and it sounds much better.

I would like to know what replacement tank can be used, and would prefer a full size (17") Accutronics/Belton unit.
