Hey im just wondering if a Telecaster would be best with a 410 Blues Deville or 212. Because im the 410 makes me think that it might be to sharp to the ears because its a Telecaster? I dont know. But give me your guys opinions. OR even would a Blues Deluxe be better?

I also arent able to try the amps much. Because im quite isolated from the music shop.

Sometimes what sounds "best" to one person, doesn't sound best to another.

My preference is 2x12s.

I haven't played through a 212 or a 410 DeVille in ages, but I own Hot Rod amps with 10" and 12" speakers -- a Pro Junior and a Deluxe. I think each speaker size has its own benefits. The 12"s move more air and seem, to my ear at least, better able to handle a full range of frequencies; on the other hand, the 10"s are nice and punchy, fully capable of delivering that great Tele honk.

Take this for what it's worth. Maybe you should buy whichever DeVille is lighter? I seem to recall that the 410 is a shade lighter than the 212. That'll make those slippery steps outside the club (at 4am in the snow) a little easier to handle...

Your ears need to be the test but as for opinion ... in lead guitarist days I used a 2 X 12" cab. That produced the somewhat deep. bluesy sound I was looking for and it took some of the twang out of the Mustang I had at the time. My LP clone had virtually no honk at all in that setup.

But at the same time, many great Tele players have used 2 X 12" Twins and gotten the classic Tele sound out of it. So I think that while the 10s might give you the Tele spank with a bit less work on your part, either can be used.

I'd go with the 12s only because I'd want more bottom end available when I was in that mood.
