And MI takes another giant step in the inexorable march toward becoming less about music and more about fashion.

"Looking for a guitar to match your amp?"

Jebus, I hope not.

I wish everything came in Surf Green: toasters, televisions, underpants, bathroom fixtures, guitar cases (!), wrenches...you get the idea.

The Preferred Series 7189 from TheTubeStore are pretty nice in a stock BJr. Mil-spec, tough as they come, 6 month warranty, and sweet sound too.

I put one in my Bugera V5. Creamy and delicious. :D
I put a Preferred Series 7025 in V1. What a nice pair.
Haven't said that in a while.

The Preferred Series tubes by the Tube Store are definitely worth checking out.

That, or maybe the white knobs.

Looks cool, and the sound difference that you've noted might be a different speaker than that which comes in the standard models. What speaker do you have?

BB, I've seriously become a huge fan of Weber. I put an Alnico 12a125a in my 5e3 clone and replace the old worn out speaker in my 74 Champ with a Signature 8. Really nice speakers and not really that expensive. Sound great out of the box, way better when they break in.

I couldn't agree more 63Supro !
Here is a picture of my "real amp"
A Clark Piedmont (59 Bassman masterpiece of an amp), IT HAS 4X10 WEBER P10R alnico's from back when Ted Weber was still with us.

I've used the 12A150 in a few tweeds over the years and they are amazing !
And had a hand wired JTM-45 clone with a weber 21A150B and a scumback in it that were pretty tasty too 8)
