I just got one of these, and it's a nice little amp.

There are so many voice settings and controls that it's a little overwhelming. Anybody with experience with this amp, can you recommend some settings? Your favorite voice settings?

Hello Porkchop87,

Firstly welcome to the Forum.

I got my Vibro-Champ XD about a month ago,
no complaints here and I can say it's a lot of fun.

I don't really dwell anywhere special on the settings.
I like fiddling with it, and use it at pretty low volumes.

I got this as a upgrade from my Champion 600.

Cheers.

Why, yes! I have one, and it is a great little amp. I particularly like setting seven, with the bass and treble controls the same, the gain set quite low; no more than 2. Any volume you want, but set it pretty high, since the low gain will not be much to drive the power tube.

Upgrade the speaker to a decent aftermarket speaker, like a Ted Weber. Change the preamp tube to a Tung-Sol 12ax7 or JJ 12ax7 and the same for the 6v6 power tube. I haven't done any of these mods myself, but plan to. Definitely change out the tubes to reputable and high quality tubes like JJs or Tung-Sol or Ruby Tubes.

I don't understand. If you love it, why mod it? Something wrong with it?

63Supro, humans always want more than they have. ;)

Personally, that faulty Hot Rod of yours, I would've kept because lord knows in a year from now, discontinued amps are in style as always! I just love that tube rattle when you crank it, oh and those failures at gigs are absolutely delicious! It gives me time to release my stored anger!

Look on the bright side of life (death)!

I found these settings for the Super Champ that should be the same for the Vibro Champ
http://billmaudio.com/wp/?page_id=245

I like voices 4, 10, and 16.

With 4 and 10, I use the third reverb setting for a nice vintage tone with my Epiphone Dot.
