A couple years back I bought a Frontman 65r brand new. Recently, it came to my attention that the treble pot needs some work, so I took it back to the shop where I got it, as it still has 3 years on the warranty. I came in and they photocopied the original receipt. The next day I got a call.

It seems that at some point, fender decided to start applying their serial numbers to amps on STICKERS! After 63 years in the business, Fender, do you really expect me to believe that you don't know stickers aren't going to last the life of the warranty?

Now the reason it's even an issue is because somewhere along the line, someone is questioning the validity of my warranty because of the lack of said sticker. My music shop sent it to a place that handles their Fender warranties, and now somebody along the line wants to charge me for the repair, even though I still have 3 years on the warranty. Because a sticker fell off after 2 years.

Now I'd really hate to think that the sticker/warranty issue was a ploy to cop out of fulfilling warranties, but I'm struggling for another explanation. Maybe it's just somebody's bad idea of a joke?

Depending on how this turns out I may very well sell all my fender gear and just give up on it entirely. Anyone from Fender care to shed some light on the situation?

Thought I might add that the S/N from the sticker is written on the receipt.

You're getting this guff from the store where you bought it?

That's not Fender yanking your chain.

NEVER trust a music store. Ever. Don't. They're operated by thieves and cutthroats, and they'll lie to your face on warranty issues. Talk to Fender Customer Service about this issue and see if you don't get some satisfaction.

The last time I got jerked around on the warranty on a digital piano and ended up taking it up with the manufacturer, the manufacturer ended up authorizing a new shop in town as their authorized repair center and the dealer ended up losing the line. And the piano got fixed.

Don't expect this thread to get things done for you.

Contact customer service on the button at the top of this page and let them know whats happening !!!!

Fender does care about taking care of its customers, That I can personaly attest to.

Someone is acting a fool and needs to find a new job !!!

this thread has already led me to listen to the voice nagging at me that it isn't a fender issue. let's explore it further, shall we?

I didn't mean it that way, just that Fender corp. would most likely not notice the thread and fix your problem.

You need to contact them directly.

Good luck, hope your back up and running soon.

Last post in this thread.
1. Fender told me to eat a dick.
2. Music shop CALLED ME to give me a few options.
3. Fender called me to say they'd take care of it (after I had to call them twice and got a ridiculous runaround that I won't go into)
4. Music shop left all options on the table.

The music shop is the clear winner in all of this, and Fender has lost a customer. I already live 40 miles away from my music shop. In a few days, I'm moving another 30 away and sticking with them after this.
