I just bought the Hot Rod Deluxe. It sounds great with the Strat and the Paul, but I'm having trouble with feedback when I play my Ovation Elite T through it. It gets real bottomy and feeds back. Any suggestions? Note: I'm playing through the Boss ME70 multieffect pedal with the pre amp set to Clean.

Like archtops and hollow-bodies, acoustic guitars are very feedback prone. In fact, the solid-body electric was developed, in part, to ameliorate feedback issues.

If you turn it up loud, it will probably feedback. Possible solutions include stuffing the guitar with foam, newspaper or some other soft material or buying a "feedback buster" to plug the soundhole.

I initially got the Ovation CC48 for a good acoustic/amplified sound.
The only way that can be done (with the HRDeluxe on my usual "electric"
settings) is to flatline, or reduce, the tonestack on the guitar.
You'll have to increase the guitar volume a bit but you can get a good "chimey' acoustic sound.
That was until I heard the controlable feedback & harmonics you can get out of that guitar !
It's still my occasional first set (mellow/acoustic) guitar of choice BUT
It's a great headturner when standing in for P90s, MiniHBs & overwound single coils.

Try a crunchy, hot tube setting lead or power chord & you (& other musicians) will be pretty blown away by the Ovation.

Vin  :D
