It was strange, I'll admit. I was surprised when he told me. I had no conception of what was going through the house mix, but I was following the golden rule of rock: don't piss off the sound guy. I wasn't about to question his technique!

Or maybe you already did. :D Just kidding.

Probably! You know how much sound guys love it when muzos come in, dump their gear all over the stage, and begin sucking back beer as quickly as possible. :)

Congrats on your HRDeluxe.

I've had no problem with mine but with the words of caution
by others, I do "baby" it.

You Cannot put any pressure on the pots as they are tied directly
to the PC board.
So, Don't sit on the amp.

You've got to keep the PC board "cool".
So, be sure there is air around the amp.

Don't let just anyone throw your amp into the equipment truck.
Once again, that PC board doesn't take well to hard bangs.

Be gentle with the inputs. They ain't HD Switchcrafts.

All in all, It's a good versatile amp, and is still serving me well.

If you have to baby it that much, don't gig with it.

Supro, point taken but
Even if I could afford to have it completely
redone PTP, I still would "baby" it.
That's just the way I am with my stuff.
Now the Cabinets in the equipment truck,
That's a different story.

Hello, capital choice, the deluxe's are a great amp range.

Dont listen to some people here, they're just sour because they got crap ones that fell off trucks somewhere. Its kinda like buying a Gibson, you have to find a good one and it'll last a long time but you do have to look after it. Lovingly.

So I played my first gig with my new HRDx last night. It was a big club -- it holds about a thousand, I think -- and during the soundcheck I had the volume on "5." The sound guy said that, at that level, it was loud enough that he didn't need to have it in the mix. I love this amp!

Thats amazing, so if i was there with my deville id be using it on probably... 2? Or with the twin probably 0.5

atroxi, don't gig much do you? Nobody's sour about anything. I don't think my HRDlx fell off a truck either.

I take care of my stuff too. That's how it got to be so old. LOL It does get bounced around. I've never used my Twin on .5. It doesn't work like a Hot Rod amp, zero to full power bu the time you hot 3 on the dial.

Supro, old is all in the mind, until you have to get out of bed in the morning. :P

Supro, you're right about the ten watts per dial marker!
Someone once wrote it was a marketing technique to use those pots
so that in the store, dialed at 3 would seem louder than you need.
(Of course, if only the 3 to 10 ratio were relative!)

And I must add that I'm not a big fan of the "more drive".
Overall I've been served well by the HRDeluxe,
both in needed volume & versatility.

Not being arrogant, just responding to your comment. Didn't look like a joke to me, just an uninformed comment.

I sure do see a lot of used HRDLX on CL. Wonder if people get fed up with them, they do seem fairly new, I mean they started making them in 96.
