Post subject: problem with frontman 15 need help

hey i recently aquired a fender frontman 15r and usually i wouldnt even mess with a practice amp but it was free so anything i do to it wont cost much. anyway my problem is when i plug it in and flip the switch nothing happens. opened the back checked the fuse it is fine. now i have searched the web and have found that many of these amps have a problem with the output chip does anyone know A) what it looks like B) where to get one is this something i can get at radioshack or what guitar center said they dont carry them and im am really unsure whether this is the proble any help would be greatly apreciated

The output chip is a TDA2050V available at digikey.com for about three dollars.

You should have no trouble finding the schematic and parts layout docs on line with google. But If you aren't familiar with servicing techniques you may find you end up doing more damage when you replace the chip! Be careful. The schematic includes signal levels you should see at each point. I'd recommend doing the diagnostics with a signal generator, o-scope and some experience.
