I've been playing for around five years and have always played fender.
I had a vox AC30 because I play in a blues band but my main band is a hard rock band so I stupidly assumed that I could just put pedals through it and have the right sound. WRONG :)

Needless to say after much perseverance I was able to trade it in for a bogner alchemist, they sound incredible with my strats. Before buying this however, I tried out the blues junior and twin reverb, they are also amazingly articulate amps and by persevering before I purchased the bogner, I've been able to get some fender esque sounds from it.

Anyone else use a bogner??

No. But I stole some of his circuit ideas when I modded my B-52 AT212.

Don't have any clips but I'll do some. The circuit ideas I took were using a .0047 or lower coupling cap instead of using the usual .022 and removing bass elsewhere in the signal path.

I'd really enjoy hearing it .. On the alchemist they have a mid shift.
I'm a big Joe Bonamassa fan and he aways talks about how important mids are but I use a start with EMG's pradominately and it sounds muffled without putting on lots of trebble on (whithout shifting the mids), the mid shift subtly skips the mids but adds some higher frequencies while keep most of the middle intact. A complete god send.

Gosh, ya think?

Alchemist head = $900

Shiva head = $2,300+

You know, I really like my Egnater Rebel, but... jeez, I feel bad now that I realize I could have bought a Two Rock.

Two Rocks are over priced for what they are...

Two rocks are stunning amps, but they're very no frills, just great clean and blues driven amps (john mayer is a great example of what they can do as is late Bonamassa stuff).

I didn't try any other bogner amps, no, but I've listened to clips of the Bogner Exctecy and it sounds quite similar to the alchemist just a bit cleaner built more in the hand wired butique feel of things.

I had am Alchemist 212 for a week. I just could not get past the VERY compressed tone. Nice chicken pickin but the openness of the clean sound was lacking. It has a certain voice that did not work for me - Brown sound? It is a great amp but not for the tone and versitility I needed. So.... got twin reverb and put a fuldrive 2 and a carbon copy delay on her and bam! I love it! (this is a gig rig - twin is best played at around 4 = loud)
