SlapChop, Just got back from GC. Deal was real bad. They offered me $275 for it so I walked. I'll Craig List it locally. So much for it holding any value. The sales guy was a little miffed too. My amp is dead mint with a set of JJ's and six months left on the warranty. Another 50 bucks they could have had it. They said to sell it for $475-500. So that's what I'll do. I got to play the Egnater 30 combo while I was there. Nice amp. Two channels that you can dial down to 1 watt individually and reverb. It's foot switchable too. To tell you the truth, I liked the Rebel a little better. I love that amp, I got to play it for another hour. The tonal possibilities are limitless. Plus I like simple amps and have basically had it with channel switching.

While I was there, some guy sold them a DRRI for $450 and it was only 6 months old. Talk about a hit.

Supro, I would Craigs List it too. Those deals they talk about for used gear at GC is such a rip off.If they have a special promotion on the Rebel, you might want to do the 12 mo same as cash .It would give you some time to sell the HR and then you could pay down the Rebel.I actually have a Strat that i am thinking about selling on CL.Right now i have 3 and i dont play it hardly ever.

Thanks for the advise. It's not really that much of a money issue. I can afford the Rebel, I just want to get rid of the HRDlx before the warranty runs out. That way if the new buyer has a problem, he won't bug me about it. See, if I did that, I'd wind up keeping the HRDlx because I'd be too lazy to sell it. LOL :D

'63, here's a recording I made with the Rebel today... just one of a couple dozens tones I've found. Strat-like partsocaster --> Barber Tone Press --> Rebel --> Eminence Red Fang --> 3 mics. No edits.

SlapChop really, really nice stuff. Sounds awesome. Do you have anything else? It doesn't even have to be the Rebel.

Thanks, '63. I played everything but drums on that (Dave Seyboldt doing a very credible imitation of the groove from Sade's "No Ordinary Love" back there, but with a different kick pattern).

Click the link again and listen to "Gate 24." That's a PRS Soapbar SE II into a POD, played over a track made of cut-and paste elements and keys and bass by me, drums from Discrete Drums. The lead was one take, so all clams are left intact.

Well, actually, here's the individual URL.

I think so! I was pretty new to the forums then but I really enjoyed your work and reading your posts. I learned a lot from you and a lot of other people too. Glad to hear you're still recording. There's a huge tonal difference between the Pod and the Rebel. The Rebel tone is just so complex. You still have the Soapy too. Nice guitars. I'm waiting to hear back from someone who might want the HRDlx.

You got that right! I haven't used my POD for anything but a direct box since I got it... even though it's a pain to haul out the mics and get the Rebel dialed in, it's worth the effort.

My last attempt at a tube amp for the studio was my bad mistake with the Blues Jr. The less said about that....

I feel your pain. I love the sound of mine and have had no problems as of yet, but I wonder what's coming down the road. I had a fan installed in mine so that the tubes wouldn't scorch the PCB, seems to be doing well. I also had the caps replaced. My Blues Jr., also from the Hot Rod line, has given me lots of problems. I love the sound of these amps, but I'm thinking of selling them both and putting that money towards a hand wired boutique amp like a DR.Z or something similar. Maybe one of the hand wired Fenders. Good luck with yours!

I saw an Egnater Rebel 20 head on MF for $599 new. Is this the one you are talking about Supro?

I know someone who offloaded his after spending too much money getting lots of minor things dealt with. That was part of the reason why I ended up buying a C30 as my first "real" amp. Had it for a year now, play it pretty much daily at various volumes, and no issues.
