At first I was pretty settled on using the 25W Greenback, but after reading around now I have a little bit of doubt thinking the 30W Anniversary Vintage Series might be slightly better. Any opinions?

I asked for other people's opinions, if I wanted just my own I don't think I would've posted the question. but thanks your valuable input.

Ryan,
Strat0Blues WAS giving you valuable input You never even mentioned what amp you plan to put them in or what kind of music you play. There are a lot of variables and anyone giving an opinion would be irresponsible at best.

Remember, one persons tonal nirvana is another persons tone turd.
I've been playing for 40 years and never trusted what anyone suggested to improve my tone. I figured it out on my own. My ears, my technique, my tone.

Seemed to me he was just trying to be a smart-ass, but whatever.

Anyways, I am going to be putting it into a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe and I mostly play blues.

Oh... what he said.

I'd go with the vintage 30.

It is true, I have been only playing for 6 months or so but if there is one thing I have learned so far is that I will only ever trust my own ears when it comes to tone.

"How reliable is a product" is always a great question to ask, and here the poll has two speakers from the same company so I am going to assume that they are equaly reliable.

The question is "Which speaker is better?" or in other words "Which speaker is better for me?", which is why I posted the one you like best because that would be the best speaker for you.

If you were unable to make a sound decision between the two I beleive the question should be "Which speaker do you like best?" or "Which speaker would you prefer?". That way the total number of votes would be based on the preference of others which could help with your decision.

I am not being smart because that is how I read the question, the best speaker for you is the one that sounds better to your ears, through your guitar and through your amplifier IMO. Use the polls to your advantage but trust your own ears

Ryan, how many watts is the Torres kit your putting together? The Greenback will breakup sooner. Don't think you can go wrong with it. 8) Mike

On a 5e3 I would find the most efficient speaker I could find just to retain a little more headroom and projection in a band situation. An Eminence Ragin' Cajun or Swamp Thang comes to mind. A 5e3 really doesn't need any speaker breakup. The amp is actually only 12 or 13 watts and breaks up really early, but us really dynamic. The harder you pick, the more it breaks up. I borrow my friends 5e3 Mission clone for some blues gigs. The Ragin' Cajun works out great and is a great sounding speaker.

It's all up to you. YMMV :D

I agree with Stratoblues. His remark was valid and you cannot justify you will like something by a poll. Your ears are the only determination that you should consider. Just like food taste. Not reasonable to ask, should I like broccaly or should I like asparagus. I can't tell you so stop asking stupid questions. Try it yourself!
