If you mean difference in the hotrod series , the answer is no.Since they have been making them in Mexico, there is no difference ( although the Blues jr has a different circuit board. If you mean All Fender amps, then yes, but its because the reissue and custom shop amps are much better quality than anything below it.

what i want to ask is if there is any difference between hot rod deluxe made in mexico and an hot rod deluxe made in USA.
if fender making them in both places.
any other amps don't mind me.
i just noticed that my HRD was made in mexico and it gave me a bad feeling. you know why... mexico...

it is very rational that higher lvl amps are made in better quality than the "regular" amps.
my question is just for a specific amp. not matter what amp.
and another question is for a specific amp - HRD.

thak you very much.
sry for bad english.
hebrew is my main language.

sry for bad english. The quality is the same , whether made in Mexico.I have a Blues Deluxe made in Mexico and there really isnt any difference between a MIM and a MIA.

I'd go with the Twin. The Hot Rod Series has a very limited lifespan. Especially the older ones.

All the hot-rods are made in Mexico, only older USA made ones are to be found and they are worse than the mim;s.
Even amps like the SuperSonic's are MIM's now.

Actually making me wonder, next trip to the GAS station I will check where the current black/silver faces are being made.

Ya I also would go with a twin :)
or the Egnater Torumaster or rebel are nice options!

The Rebels on the top of my list. GC has a trade in deal in August. If I get enough cash together and a decent trade in deal, which I doubt but who knows, the HRDlx may be history. I won't purchase another Fender PCB amp again. Guitars, sure, but the amps are a no-go. If they start building them better and at a reasonable price I may be back. I'm tired f all the sub standard components and workmanship at premium prices.

A grand seems to be their new price point. For that kind of coin I demand quality and so should everyone else.

Hard to believe the HRDX is at nearly the same price the Deluxe Reverb was in feb.No comparison IMHO.The vintage series is so much better built .

Yeah I know. It's sad. I'm through with cheaply designed amps with cheap boards loaded with even cheaper components and sold at premium prices.

I have a Technics stereo receiver that I bought in 1979. I took it apart recently to blow out some dust and I'll tell you what, the PCB is thicker than the PCB in my HRDlx!! Oh, I paid the princely sum of $75 for the receiver.

By the way, the receiver never saw a repair shop. It gets played every day in my studio for background sound to drown out my Tinnitus.

A 5 watt 57 Tweed Champ RI for a grand? The amp was designed over 50 years ago. So there's no R&D involved same with the DRRI. With the DRRI it's a PCB. It's supposed to be cheaper to produce.

Sorry for the rant again, I'm just disgusted and frustrated.
Just another week till August. :D

Almost all of fender's amps uses SS rectifier.
even the legendary twin reverb.
what is so bad with that SS rectifier?
or PCB as you said.

Nothing is wrong with a well designed, quality made PCB. Fenders lower end amps have neither. Nothing wrong with a SS rectifier either. You just don't get the sag or compression like a tube rectifier. It's just personal preference.

i havent had any probs with my deville, but you guys are right... these new amps are RIDICULOUSLY priced. i am 100% ASHAMED of fender for these prices. i know the freight is the reason theyre driving the prices up... but dude... i doubt fender really needed to jump every single amp they sell up $200 or more just because of freight costs.

*source: old man Kutz at Kutz Music in Pittsburg, KS. (been in business since the 50s) he said his fender rep told him the prices went up solely bc of FREIGHT.

kind of sleezy move there fender.. thanks for thinking of us, the ppl that keep you in business.

I love my HRDX. A good amp that gets ran down a lot. Ive been playing mine for five years. No problems at all. A freind of mine just bought a blues JR and its in the shop for a bad tube socket> That can happen to any amp with PCB tube mount sockets. and there are a lot of the out there from a lot of other makers as well. The PCB bourds are on spec with every other PCB amp I own. VOX , Peavey. But there is some good to come from all the Running down of the HRDX , It keeps the price down on a good amp , so I can buy more of them . HA HA HA

You can buy mine if you love them that much.
Other amp manufacturers mount tubes to the board, but the sockets are supported in a way as to not flex the board the way the Hot Rod Series does when you change the tubes. They are also properly heat sinked as well. The amp gets dogged for good reason. You can have them all.
