Hey!
I just bought a Fender Vibroverb 63 reissue with stock speakers. I have read some reviews on the amp and like 80% of the users have changed the original speakers, so i ordered two new jensen c10q speakers ( I haven't installed theese yet). My problem is the sound, it's to muddy and there's no brilliance. I have a deluxe reverb and it sounds awesome, perfect ballance between the bass and the brilliance. But I can't get that sound in my Vibroverb, that's why i'm planning to change the tubes! I think it's the stock tubes that's installed right now (according to some websites are the original tubes made in china. But i don't know)
What kind of tubes shall i buy if i want brilliance and bass that isn't muddy?

Hi there Hartsner, I think you might want to wait until the speakers are swapped out, to R&R the power tubes. Thought that amp came with decent Alnico speakers. My experience with 2X10 combos is that they are very focused on the mids and lower highs. Your DR is inherently more balanced. As far as newer iteration power tubes, hyper tested JJ's or Winged-C Svetlanas should work just fine. The GT6L6GE and GT6L6S are two tubes I would usually recommend, but it seems there are some issues concerning this company. You might want to experiment with the 12AX7's (V2&V4). Good Luck! Art

I hope this isn't too late--I had a great experience with Eurotubes.com

I replaced the tubes in my 1963 reissue Vibroverb two months ago and I have been happier than a pig in mud...

Te other thing that was great about Eurotubes is the fact that you can call them and say, "I want it to be brighter/darker/cleaner/dirtier/whatever" and they'll match up a set for you.

A complete set cost me $125--shipping included!

I hope you love your Vibroverb as much as I love mine--I've had it since 1992, and wouldn't take anything for it!
