This is not the relocating the tubes in the chassis mod but simply
replacing the speaker baffle with a cut out/grill, cutting off the bottom and moving it up a few inches.
If my measure is right, once recovered, it should look similar to a reverb unit.
Are there any rules of thumb with bringing the verb tank closer to the ELs and/or OT?

The finished unit sure will look sweet sitting on an oversized single 12 cabinet. 8)

Just finished a Weber Reverb unit a couple of months ago. The tank to chassis distance is not really an electronic interference problem. The cables are shielded, the spring and transducers are shielded by the tank. I think your biggest concern would be ventillation and cable routing. Art

Thanks AC for the info.
I do believe circulation will be improved by the "open back" and
the grilled large cutout front panel.

BTW, How did your Weber come out.
Did you go with the ReVibe & how complicated was it?

Yeah Vin, your head design should be pretty cool all the way around, looks and plenty of air. How are you going to keep the head from possibly scootin' off the speaker cab? You know, bumps and vibrations. Isn't that head going to be kind of light? Maybe soft non marking rubber feet, tall enough to clear the speaker cabs handle. I've used Vibrapods, but they're a hassle to keep track of in a hectic teardown. The Weber is a 5G15. just a stand alone reveb unit. It turned out great. I made some hybrid grounding modifications, in an effort to keep it quiet, and that worked out just fine. I understand the Revibe is kind of a cramped workspace, but worth the effort. Good Luck! Art, The game plan is to shallow, soft router the new bottom of the head cab to accomodate the handle and install the ol' Fender piggyback hardware. 8)
The new bottom will be a birch ply as the cabinet depth will be different than the original, not to mention, why even bother trying to "rework"
particle board.

The rebuild is finished.
The orig. tolex was pulled back enough to get it away from the cabinet
saw cuts. I used polyester (fiberglas) resin to glue the reworked bottom to the newly cut sides.
There will be a new Vanilla tolex w/ oxblood grill later but for now the practice w/ the existing tolex was worthwhile (and enlightening !)[/img]<a href="http://s273.photobucket.com/albums/jj230/ladyscaglyc/?action=view&current=bluesjrfront-3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj230/ladyscaglyc/bluesjrfront-3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I sure hope you can see the photo.
any help will be appreciated.
